Wyong Seniors Week Concert – A review

Today, 8th March, a group of us went to the Art House at Wyong to enjoy a concert put on by The Central Coast Council for Seniors Week. Although the Art House has been in operation for some time, this has been the first time I have been there so I was interested to see how it looked. On the whole it is very nice, basic but good and you won’t have to mortgage the house to attend. The seating has been designed so that anywhere you sit you get a good view of the stage but must admit the seating was a little on the hard side.

The concert started off with a group of ladies calling themselves ENCORE. They are singers and entertainers and very good they were. Encore was followed by Taylor Harrington, a year 12 High school student who entertained us with several songs. I believe Taylor has entered several competitions and has done very well.

Taylor was followed by a 13 year old student named Ella Powell who also entertained us with songs but this time accompanied herself on the guitar. Again very good and talented. The girls were followed by a short break wherein tea and coffee, biscuits and cake were served.

After settling back in our seats, the compare introduced Joe Zappia who also entertained us with songs. He sang the songs of Roy Orbison, Elvis, Dean Martin, and finished up with songs sung by the greats, Mario Lanza and Luciano Pavarotti. Delightful.

A great mornings entertainment.
