Review and pictures of our Australia Day BBQ

How good it was to celebrate Australia Day at a BBQ with friends at Alison House at Wyong.  Admittedly the weather was not what we would have liked it to be, but as we have no control over the weather we just got on with it and made the most of our day out together. Most of our members arrived bright and early and got organised with setting up tables, decorations, food and the BBQ and with 23 present it was great to see one and all mixing together and talking and getting to know each other more in such a friendly atmosphere.

From the committee’s view it was so rewarding to see everyone getting in and helping out in so many ways which made the day so memorable.  With a number of people bringing salads, as well as the necessary sausages, onions, bread and sauces, there was food for everyone.  The Lamington cakes after the quiz finished off the day beautifully.

Trivia from Brian and Nerrelle Wilson made us all go back to our schooldays for history of Australia information which was a lot of fun.  Jean Brown put us all to shame with her knowledge and won with 11 out of 14 questions right.

I am sure everyone would agree we are most fortunate to have found a fabulous place for our Australia Day BBQ which we alone have the use of for the day and which has everything we require.
